HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Certified Consultant from Dayton, OH Adding Value to Human Resource (HR) Toolkits with the DISC Method
Everyone you encounter is motivated differently, communicates differently, and views tasks and relationships differently. As an HR Manager the most challenging aspect of your role is the recruitment, selection, and placement of the right people in the right position on the right team. Organizations in Dayton, throughout the Midwest, and around the world have been trying to find more effective tools to improve the chances of hiring successfully. Dependable assessments provide evaluation strategies beyond the face-to-face interviews, but the cost and time of analyzing the core behavioral traits and cognitive reasoning has proven to be a difficult hurdle. This is where the LMS Certified Consultant takes the stress out of an already strenuous hiring process.
At LeBrun Management Solutions (LMS), our certified trainer has developed a program that:
- Provides the best behavioral personality assessment available – The DISC Method
- Delivers a complete analysis of every applicant that is easy to understand
- Comes with a customized program at a very affordable price
- Provides on-going training to foster a positive workplace culture
The DISC method is one of the most accurate predictors of workplace behavior in the world and extremely beneficial when utilized in hiring, onboarding, and teambuilding. You should never determine a hiring decision on one factor alone and the DISC assessment is an excellent tool to add to your current resources. The program will help you predict the compatibility of potential employees before bringing them into your organization. It can assist in building teams and improving the workplace culture of existing teams. With the assessments, it is easier for HR and leaders of the organization to counsel and identify an employee’s needs, fears, strengths, weaknesses, influences on others, motivators, and even how they handle stress in the workplace. LMS is positioned to walk you through this process and provide the necessary details to help find the best candidate for every position.

COMMON QUESTIONS RELATED TO HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
IS THE WORKPLACE CULTURE REALLY A BIG DEAL?
WHAT IS DISC ASSESSMENT?
DISC is an assessment tool used to recruit and filter potential hires and improve work productivity, teamwork, and communication of current teams. Personalities are very complex and DISC assessments will measure your natural behaviors as well as your adapted behaviors. The natural behavior being more the “core you” and the adapted behavior being more “the mask” we put on for others. The information gained from the DISC assessment may then be better utilized to understand the behaviors of your staff and leadership and assist you with building a stronger, more collaborative team.
WHO CREATED THE DISC ASSESSMENT?
WHAT DO I GET WITH THE DISC ASSESSMENT?
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE DISC PROGRAM?
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT DISC PROGRAM TO USE?
IS IT TRUE THAT I CAN GET IN TROUBLE USING PERSONALITY TESTING FOR HIRING?
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISC AND MYERS-BRIGGS?
According to an article called “Why Myers-Briggs is Meaningless” that was published in 2015 by Vox Media, Myers-Briggs personality tests are a very inconsistent way of measuring personality type. The biggest problem the article points out is that when users take the Myers-Briggs test multiple times—even in back-to-back testing sessions—the results are often dramatically different. When taking a Myers-Briggs test on a Monday, you might be labeled an INFJ. Take it again on a Tuesday, and you might come out an ENFP. In fact, their studies have shown that “as much as 50% of people arrive at a different result the second time they take the test.”
There’s no disputing that DISC and Myers-Briggs are both valuable tools that teach us about the complexities of human behavior. But the two tests aren’t the same. Based on different psychological theories and testing strategies, DISC has been shown to have a much higher rate of reliability. When contrasting DISC with Myers-Briggs, a 2015 Validation Study by PeopleKeys reported that the consistency and reliability of DISC was in the 90-95% range. In other words, within a short span of time, people taking the DISC assessment multiple times are labeled with the same dominant style over 90% of the time. When you compare that with the reported 50% reliability rate Myers-Briggs, that’s a difference significant enough to give anyone pause.
The difference in the reliability scores of (Myers-Briggs)MBTI and DISC are high enough to show that the two testing instruments are based on methodologies that allow DISC to clearly stand out as the more reliable measurement of personality and behavior.”
